I’m a 24-year-old expressionist living in the GTA. Before COVID-19, I attended OCADU while I also worked for Yaymaker, hosting painting gigs around the city almost every night. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to….keep painting!
Each of my paintings is done by meaning naturally to express a feeling words simply cannot relay, like when the view takes your breath away. I pulled each image out from the blankness of the starting surface. Diamonds and Daisies are often found somewhere within the artwork, and all my artwork is inspired first by song-it’s the music that compels me to pick up a brush.
Self Portrait & Loathing in Toronto
Intentionally damaged canvas with Oil, Rose Petals and shards of broken glass
This piece started off as a self portrait for a painting class at OCAD. I found some shatter glass and rose petals and resonated all together tighter than glue.

This painting started as an acrylic wash abstraction, an experiment with colour. I then painted a blindfolded figure with roses tucked behind his ears.
To be a blind fool and to never complain are words of my favorite album Fantasies by metric.
Apparition Kiss (Longing)
24″x24″ on wooden panel
Here we see an ambiguous embrace between 2 otherworldly figures, which transcends relationships. longing and loneliness – not necessarily longing for the same thing, but just longing for something else.
20″ x 16″ acrylics on canvas
Some 15 years ago RuPaul did amazing things for the male gay community, one of many communities we’ve got- the transsexual, lesbian, and bisexual members of their own communities deserve the same respect as us. We all live in the same Galaxy, instead we meet our queer others with prejudice and bigotry.
A City we Called Toronto
24″x28″ resin, acrylics, oil and gold leaf
This is a piece that reflects my home and where I intend to go within it. If you look closely, you’ll notice sheet music as well as novel paper, as well as oil strips of canvas. The rainbow oil stained collaged buildings as well as the gold leaf express the freedom of sexuality and individuation.
18″x16″ acrylic knives and brushes on canvas
This was painted without a reference. I had looked at a photo similar to it but I did not have it in front of me while I was painting. The hopeful colour and the defeated subject insinuate a profound change. The angel made of stone and yet carved down is almost a Contrapposto, as though human-esque.
24″ x 30″ Oil and chalk on canvas
An oil-painted blue background with an assortment of different colours is glazed over with a varnish finish. On top sit 2 drawn boys looking into a field. One fantasizes that they were free enough to be themselves at whatever time period this may have been.
Calling Moon & Moon
Natasha Khan, known on stage as Bat for Lashes, helped me with this painting. I have severe back issues, and this is dedicated to her song Moon and Moon, where she speaks about a hand putting pressure on her back, yet no arms dangle from the sky to do this for us.
